Anthony Albanese pays us a visit

The 60th edition of the Annual Smart Energy Conference (SEC) and exhibition proved to be an outstanding success for the crew of 8 that represented the ANU Solar Racing team. Held at the ICC Sydney, the Exhibition was a haven for energy experts from the renewable industry. Alex Norman, the Business Lead expressed his astonishment of the event saying that it was a “Fantastic exhibition with so many interesting companies supporting our vision.”

Not only were we surrounded by the companies like the 5B, AlphaESS and Solplanet,  the team were greeted by the media surrounding the likes of Hon Anthony Albanese MP and Chris Bowen the Shadow Minister of Climate Change and Energy.

Spanning over the course of two days from 4-5 May , the ANU Solar Racing Team were able to connect with experts and companies while gathering insight on value changes to the market. The team set out to find possible contacts and sponsors interested in funding this iteration of the project. Alex Carrol, Sponsorship Sub-lead shares how “We are so grateful for all the support we received from our team-members in gaining interests from future potential sponsors.”

As with all events, this trip was filled with many hiccups along the way but proved to be worthwhile during the actual day. Just look at it. It was no surprise that the Solar Spirit caught the eye of both the press and the public eye. The whole team smashed the event thanks to the round the clock hard work of the Technical team to get the car built and ready for the trip.

Signing off,

The SEC Team.
